Executive Director of «Balsam»:  Performing 77 free catheterization and open-heart surgeries in Kyrgyzstan in November

Our trip to Kyrgyzstan is the first after cooperation with the (KSrelief)

Dr. Ahmed Al-Ahmari, Consultant of Preventive Medicine and Public Health and Executive Director of the “Balsam” Association for Training and Health Development said that the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the field of voluntary, relief and humanitarian work, cannot be ignored, affirming that since its establishment, the Kingdom has been keen on enhancing its voluntary, relief and humanitarian work in and outside Saudi Arabia, with no discrimination according to color, gender, country or religion. The KSA has always been keen on extending a helping hand to various parts of the world. Al-Ahmari added that humanitarian work is diverse and intricate, but in his viewpoint as a doctor, it is the most civilized humanitarian work that ends human physical suffering through surgeries, the dispensing of medicines, and alleviating of the psychological and human suffering of the sick person.

” From this standpoint, we as Saudi doctors were keen to establish the Balsam Association for Training and Health Development to increase the efficiency of Saudi doctors and the medical staff within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and qualify them to work in this field, ” Al-Ahmari said explaining that the Balsam Association was established under the umbrella of the Ministry of Human Resources more than 4 years ago before the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic. He added that the association had many activities inside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, pointing out that it managed to sign an agreement with the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), which had empowered Saudi associations, which is considered a great step for which it should be lauded.

Regarding the first activity of the association following the signing of the cooperation agreement with the (KSrelief), Al-Ahmari pointed out that the Balsam Association will make a trip to the Republic of Kyrgyzstan during the period from 10 to 18 November, with the aim to establish a surgical camp in two different hospitals to conduct more than 60 cardiac catheterization procedures and more than 17 open-heart operations.

Al-Ahmari pointed out that members of the Balsam Association and medical missions intervene surgically in complex cases that the country’s local doctors are not qualified enough to deal with, so as usual Saudi Arabia offers help. Al-Ahmari concluded his statement by stressing that in light of the cooperation with (KSrelief), there will be other trips in the near future, expressing his hope that all their efforts will be rendered successful.
