HE GCCSG Commends the State of Qatar’s Efforts in Resumption of Rwanda-Belgium Diplomatic Ties, Adding to Its Track Record in Advancing Regional and Global Stability

His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), welcomed the resumption of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Rwanda and the Kingdom of Belgium, expressing deep appreciation for the diplomatic efforts undertaken by the State of Qatar in cultivating a conducive environment for engagement between both sides and bridging perspectives to reach this positive milestone.

His Excellency underscored that the State of Qatar’s hosting of the first direct meeting between the Foreign Ministers of Rwanda and Belgium in Doha, alongside its constructive diplomatic endeavours, reflects the esteemed stature and credibility enjoyed by Qatari diplomacy across the regional and international arenas.

Concluding his statement, His Excellency noted that this breakthrough reaffirms what earnest dialogue and active diplomacy can accomplish in overcoming differences and rebuilding mutual trust among nations, thereby consolidating international peace, security, and stability.
