HE GCCSG Receives Inaugural Distinguished Alumni Impact Award from University of Utah
The University of Utah in the United States of America has conferred the inaugural Distinguished Alumni Impact Award on His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
The accolade comes in recognition of His Excellency’s milestones since graduating from the institution, as well as his exemplary contributions throughout his professional and diplomatic career.
Commenting on this honour, His Excellency the GCC Secretary General expressed profound pride in receiving this distinction from his alma mater, stating that the university holds an exceptional place in his academic foundation, as the knowledge and experience acquired during his studies proved instrumental in shaping his trajectory in statecraft and public service.
Extending his appreciation to the leadership of the University of Utah, His Excellency underscored that he considers this tribute not as a culmination, but rather as a binding commitment to ensure the enduring bridge connecting the Gulf region with the university remains vibrant.
“Relations between the GCC member states and the United States are stronger and more dynamic than ever, evidenced by the growing flow of scholars crossing this conduit, joint research initiatives, and reciprocal understanding,” His Excellency pointed out.
Furthermore, he lauded the university’s esteemed academic stature and the dedication of its faculty in championing rigorous scholarship, acknowledging their mentorship during his own educational journey.
His Excellency urged the attending students to persistently invest in their intellect, continually hone their competencies, and seize the research opportunities afforded by the campus. He emphasised that the agility to learn, evolve, and navigate emerging global transformations constitutes the single most vital pillar for lasting achievement and distinction.
