SADAFCO Showcases Its Sustainability Transformation in 2025 Report, “Transforming Today, Impacting Tomorrow”

As sustainability continues to shape the future of businesses, communities, and the environment, Saudia Dairy and Foodstuff Company (SADAFCO) has released its 2025 Sustainability report, reflecting its ongoing journey to embed sustainability into the way it operates, grows, and creates long-term value.

Built around SADAFCO’s three strategic sustainability pillars, Preserving the Planet, Connecting Generations, and Doing Business the Right Way, the report shows how the company is translating ambition into practical initiatives across its operations, people, communities, and governance practices, while strengthening long-term resilience, efficiency, and business competitiveness.

Patrick Stillhart, Chief Executive Officer of SADAFCO, said: “Transforming Today, Impacting Tomorrow reflects how we view sustainability at SADAFCO—not as a standalone initiative, but as a continuous journey of improving how we operate, delighting our consumers, supporting our people, and creating long-term value. In 2025, we focused on translating our sustainability strategy into measurable progress across climate action, water stewardship, fleet decarbonization, workplace safety, community engagement, and governance. This progress reinforces our belief that disciplined execution today will help build a more resilient and future-ready SADAFCO.”

Preserving the Planet

Under the Preserving the Planet pillar, SADAFCO accelerated its environmental action through water stewardship, renewable energy expansion, circularity, and fleet decarbonization initiatives, reflecting its commitment to improving resource efficiency while reducing environmental impact across its operations.

Water stewardship remained a strategic priority throughout 2025. Through operational efficiency and process optimization initiatives, SADAFCO achieved a 33% improvement in Water Consumption Ratio compared to the 2022 baseline, while conserving approximately 242 million liters of water.

During 2025, the company also generated 2,141 MWh of solar power across its operations, supporting its transition toward cleaner energy sources and reducing operational emissions.

Looking ahead, SADAFCO plans to expand its renewable energy footprint through a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) model across seven additional sites by 2026, targeting a total installed solar PV capacity of 2.9 MW and expected annual generation of approximately 4.9 million kWh of clean energy.

As part of its fleet decarbonization efforts, SADAFCO achieved a 40% reduction in vehicle idling time compared with 2024. Despite increased operational activity, with total distance travelled reaching 9.50 million kilometres, representing a 6% year-on-year increase, the company recorded an 8% improvement in fleet fuel efficiency, reducing fuel consumption while maintaining operational reliability.

Fleet-related emissions also decreased by 4.5%, reinforcing the company’s operational decarbonization efforts. SADAFCO continues to explore low-carbon transportation solutions, including electric and hydrogen trucks, supporting its ambition to achieve a 33% clean-energy fleet by 2035.

Through its partnership with Maersk ECO Delivery Ocean, SADAFCO adopted lower-emission fuel solutions across shipping operations, avoiding approximately 855 tCO₂e emissions and supporting supply chain decarbonization.

The company also advanced circular economy practices, achieving a 96% recycling rate across its operations. Recycling initiatives generated approximately SAR 2.6 million in recycling revenue, demonstrating the environmental, operational, and financial value of sustainable waste management.

Connecting generation

Under the Connecting Generations pillar, SADAFCO continued investing in employee wellbeing, workplace safety, consumer trust, and community engagement. The company reported a workforce of approximately 2,500+ employees, with a 38% Saudization rate across the organization.

SADAFCO maintained a strong safety performance, recording a Lost Time Injury Frequency Rate of 0.09 or less and ZERO workplace fatalities during the reporting year. The company also delivered 21,049 health, safety, security, and environment training hours, reinforcing its commitment to building a proactive safety culture and strengthening workforce capabilities.

In line with its social impact commitments, SADAFCO invested approximately SAR 2.2 million in CSR initiatives and contributed more than 1,052 volunteering hours through community engagement programs.

Doing Business, the Right Way

Under the Doing Business the Right Way pillar, SADAFCO strengthened its governance framework through the adoption of ISO 37000:2021, an international guidance standard for governance of organizations, reinforcing transparency, accountability, and responsible business practices. To further strengthen reporting credibility and stakeholder trust, the Sustainability Report 2025 underwent an independent limited assurance process conducted by Intertek, a global assurance and certification company, covering Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions, selected Scope 3 categories, as well as key environmental and social disclosures.

Patrick Stillhart added: “As we continue supporting the Kingdom’s sustainability ambitions, we remain focused on responsible growth that reduces environmental impact, supports communities, strengthens governance, and creates value for all stakeholders.”
