HE GCCSG Condemns in Strongest Terms Continued Israeli Settlement Expansion in Occupied West Bank, Warns of Danger of “E1” Settlement Project

His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), condemned the Israeli occupation authorities’ continued settlement plans in the occupied West Bank, including the “E1″ settlement project, underscoring that advancing these plans represents a blatant challenge to international legitimacy and a systematic undermining of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
”These practices by the Israeli occupation forces undermine the prospects of achieving peace and threaten international and regional efforts aimed at establishing an independent Palestinian state,” His Excellency stated.
Moreover, His Excellency the GCC Secretary General called on the international community to take a serious and responsible stance to halt these settlement policies and plans, and to counter any measures aimed at altering the geographical and demographic reality of the occupied Palestinian territories.
His Excellency concluded his statement by reiterating the GCC’s firm stance supporting the right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state along the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with the Arab Peace Initiative and relevant resolutions of international legitimacy.
