Earlier this month, Address Beach Resort collaborated with the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES) to honour the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD). Recognised annually on 3 December by the United Nations, this day highlights the rights, wellbeing, and leadership of persons with disabilities. To mark this occasion, the resort recently hosted a special event on Sunday, 8 December, featuring a hotel tour and a festive gingerbread house-making activity for families from Dubai’s POD (People of Determination) community.
In partnership with IBCCES, the event brought together POD families to kick-start the festive season with an inspiring day of fun and inclusivity. Guests enjoyed a hotel tour to explore the resort’s world-class amenities and accessibility features, followed by a hands-on gingerbread house-making activity, which was a fun experience for the children and their families.
Address Beach Resort’s commitment to accessibility and inclusivity is exemplified by its status as a Certified Autism Center™, a designation achieved in 2023 as part of EMAAR Hospitality Group’s dedication to creating inclusive environments. This certification underscores the group’s ongoing efforts to welcome and accommodate autistic and sensory-sensitive individuals and their families. Through this collaboration, Address Beach Resort showcased its dedication to inclusive and accessible hospitality.
By partnering with IBCCES—a global leader in cognitive disorder training and certification—the resort underscores the importance of fostering environments where everyone feels welcome and supported. With over two decades of experience, IBCCES has set the global standard for training and certification in sectors such as education, healthcare, corporate environments, and travel, empowering professionals and organisations to better serve autistic people and individuals with neurodivergent identities.
The 2024 IDPD theme, “Amplifying the leadership of persons with disabilities for an inclusive and sustainable future,” champions the mantra “Nothing About Us Without Us” and emphasises the vital role persons with disabilities play in shaping inclusive communities.
By hosting this event, Address Beach Resort has once again aligned with this vision,
providing a platform that not only celebrates inclusion but also nurtures leadership
and creativity among people of determination.
