His Excellency Mr Jassem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), welcomed the statement issued by the Arab Ministerial Contact Committee regarding Syria, which was formed under decision No. 8914 issued during the extraordinary session of the Arab League Council at the ministerial level.
This committee includes the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Republic of Iraq, the Republic of Lebanon, and the Arab Republic of Egypt, in addition to the Secretary General of the Arab League. The meeting was attended by the Foreign Ministers of the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the current president of the Arab Summit, and the State of Qatar on Saturday (December 14, 2024) in Aqaba, Jordan.
HE the Secretary General reaffirmed the support of the GCC member states for all efforts aimed at achieving the unity, sovereignty, security, and stability of the sisterly Syrian Arab Republic and standing by the Syrian people, providing them with all necessary support.
He also praised the contents of the issued statement, stating that it will contribute to the construction and prosperity of the sisterly Syrian Arab Republic and help end the tragedy and suffering of the Syrian people.
