HE the GCCSG Chairs the Preparatory Internal Meting for the 161st Ministerial Council Meeting.
As part of the preparations for the 161st meeting of the Ministerial Council of Their Highnesses and Excellencies the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Cooperation Council member states, scheduled to be held on September 9, 2024 in the city of Riyadh, a coordination meeting was held via video conference in the morning of today, Monday, August 19, 2024, chaired by His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). The meeting was attended by senior officials from the General Secretariat.
On this occasion, His Excellency the GCC Secretary General stated that this internal coordination meeting for the 161st Ministerial Council meeting aims to coordinate and prepare comprehensively for all the topics that will be presented on the agenda of the Ministerial Council meeting, which will include a number of files related to the march of the joint GCC action, as well as several regional and international issues.
He also indicated that during the 161st Ministerial Council meeting, the Council states will hold several joint ministerial meetings with a number of countries, to discuss cooperation and joint coordination between them, as well as to exchange views on regional and international situations.
Moreover, His Excellency stressed that these GCC ministerial meetings come as a completion of the joint efforts among the Council states to develop cooperation and integration between them, through the exchange of views and the adoption of many GCC decisions and recommendations, in addition to following up on the implementation of joint Gulf initiatives as well as projects designed to achieve sustainable development, security and stability for the Council states and their peoples.
