HE GCCSG: Economic Integration Between GCC Countries Is the Key Objective at the Current Stage, and There Are Challenges Facing This Goal That the Cooperation Council is Seeking to Overcome

His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), stressed that economic integration between the GCC countries is the key objective at the current stage, explaining that there are challenges facing this goal that the GCC countries are seeking to overcome.

HE the Secretary General’s statement was made during his speech at “The Future of the Gulf” dialogue, held on the sidelines of the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum 2024 on Tuesday (January 16, 2024) in Davos, Switzerland. The forum was attended by ministers, senior officials, and businessmen from various countries around the world.

During his speech, His Excellency said that the GCC countries have achieved high indicators in human development and have large economies, qualifying them to be among the global economic countries.

Furthermore, he also reviewed a number of prestigious achievements and high statistics achieved by the GCC in all aspects, emphasising that they came as a result of the directives of the founding leaders and the current leaders of the GCC, as well as the collective work of officials in the Cooperation Council countries to achieve economic integration in order to fulfill the aspirations of the peoples of their countries for a better future.
