HE GCCSG Receives the Ambassador of the Republic of Singapore to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), received His Excellency Mr. S. Premjith, Ambassador of the Republic of Singapore to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on Tuesday (December 26, 2023) at the headquarters of the General Secretariat in Riyadh.

At the beginning of the meeting, HE the Secretary General congratulated HE the Ambassador, on the occasion of assuming his duties, wishing him further success.

During the meeting, the progress in the efforts made to develop the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) signed between the Cooperation Council and the Republic of Singapore in 2008 were discussed, in addition to strengthening cooperation between the GCC and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), of which Singapore is a member.

Moreover, the results of the negotiating team that held its meeting in August 2023 in Singapore were also reviewed, which focused on strengthening relations between both sides in a way that serves common interests.
