HE the GCCSG: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Bid to Host the 2034 FIFA World Cup Comes as Part of the Ambitious Vision of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and HRH the Crown Prince in Hosting Global Sports Events

His Excellency Mr Jassem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), expressed his welcome to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s bid to host the 2034 FIFA World Cup, stating that this bid aligns with the ambitious vision of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in hosting global sports events.

Moreover, His Excellency the Secretary General emphasised that this bid underscores the great and high capabilities of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in housing such events, and reflects the Kingdom’s esteemed position on the map of accommodating international functions.

He concluded his statement by extending his wishes to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, its leadership, and its people, for all the success and prosperity in organising the 2034 FIFA World Cup.
