DUBAI–INDIA EXECUTIVE TRAVEL EXPANDS BEYOND TRADITIONAL BUSINESS CENTRES AS REGIONAL COMMERCIAL HUBS GAIN MOMENTUM

Vista Member travel data shows Mumbai and New Delhi remain the backbone of UAE–India executive travel, while Kolkata and Pune emerge as the most notable new entries in the H1 2026 rankings, pointing to a broader shift in cross-border business activity.

New analysis of Member data from Dubai-based Vista, the world’s leading private aviation Group, reveals a new phase in UAE–India executive mobility, as business travel expands beyond traditional financial centers to connect with India’s specialist industrial, technology and commercial hubs.

While Mumbai and New Delhi remained Dubai’s two busiest destinations across both 2025 and the first half of 2026, Vista’s latest Member data highlights a notable shift in the destination rankings, with Kolkata and Pune moving into the top five destinations in H1 2026, having not featured in the top ten in 2025. Rather than replacing established centers, these emerging destinations demonstrate how executive travel is expanding alongside a more geographically diverse UAE–India commercial relationship.

Key trends from Vista Member flight data between the UAE and Asia include:

  • Mumbai remained Dubai’s busiest destination across both FY2025 and H1 2026, underlining the enduring strength of the UAE–India business corridor.
  • New Delhi retained its position as Dubai’s second busiest destination, reflecting its continued importance as a center for government engagement, investment and corporate activity.
  • Kolkata and Pune were the most notable new entries in the H1 2026 rankings, moving into fourth and fifth place respectively after not appearing in Dubai’s top ten destinations in 2025.
  • Other Indian cities also moved into the H1 2026 top ten, including Chennai and Calicut, further highlighting the broader geographic spread of executive travel.
  • The changing destination mix reflects India’s expanding specialist economic hubs across manufacturing, engineering, technology, logistics and infrastructure.
  • Dubai continues to act as a bridge between Gulf businesses and India’s broader commercial ecosystem, enabling executives and investors to access opportunities across multiple markets.

Stefano Miggiano, President – South Asia & Türkiye at Vista, said:

As UAE–India economic ties continue to expand, business aviation is playing a critical role in connecting decision-makers with the markets and projects shaping this growth. While Mumbai and New Delhi remain important destinations — reflecting a mature and long-established commercial relationship — the more notable trend is the increasing accessibility for executives to access India’s specialist economic centers.

“Vista’s global network and flexible connectivity enable executives to travel efficiently between the UAE and a wider range of Indian cities, including those where manufacturing, engineering, technology and infrastructure projects are increasingly concentrated.”

Pune has emerged as one of India’s leading centers for advanced manufacturing, automotive engineering and technology development. Chennai continues to strengthen its position as a major manufacturing and logistics gateway, with capabilities across automotive, electronics, renewable energy, maritime industries and technology. Kolkata serves as a gateway to eastern India’s industrial, infrastructure and regional trade networks.

Together, these markets represent a broader shift in how Gulf businesses are engaging with India — moving beyond traditional corporate centers towards locations where production, innovation and large-scale projects are taking place.

The trend comes as economic ties between the UAE and India continue to deepen following the implementation of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), expanding collaboration across trade, investment, financial services, technology, logistics, manufacturing and innovation.

Dubai’s position as a global business hub further reinforces this connectivity. Through initiatives including the D33 Economic Agenda, the emirate continues to strengthen its role as a platform connecting capital, companies and talent across global markets, with many organizations using Dubai as a base for regional and international expansion.

Miggiano added:

“Today’s executives operate across increasingly complex international networks. They need the ability to move efficiently between markets, visit operational sites, meet partners and respond quickly to new opportunities. As business relationships become more geographically diverse, flexible connectivity becomes increasingly important in supporting growth across borders.”

Vista’s global infrastructure provides Members with access to more than 2,400 airports across 96% of the world’s countries, enabling them to connect efficiently with both established financial centers and emerging commercial destinations.
