Bigo Live Brought Digital Families Together For A Week Of Live Celebration

Bigo Live, a leading global social livestreaming platform, has concluded May Family Month 2026, a week-long celebration of digital community, creator teamwork, and shared pride that took place from 13 to 19 May 2026. Coinciding with the United Nations International Day of Families on 15 May, the campaign spotlighted Bigo Live’s Family feature, community-based creator groups where creators and viewers came together as one coordinated team, building loyalty, identity, and momentum through livestreaming.

This year’s theme, “Building on the Past, Embracing the Future,” honoured the legacy of past champions while opening the competition to families across the Bigo Live platform. Throughout the campaign, Bigo Live Families progressed from internal team challenges to regional cross-country battles, before top-performing families advanced to the Global Finals to compete for the world number one title and champion rewards.

The campaign brought together Families from across the Bigo Live platform, with more than 650+ families taking part. The event also drew strong audience engagement across the region.

The campaign arrived at a moment when the GCC’s highly connected digital culture continues to shape how communities gather, communicate, and celebrate. According to DataReportal’s latest 2026 reports, Saudi Arabia had 34.4 million internet users in October 2025, with internet penetration standing at 99 percent, while social media user identities reached 38.6 million. In the UAE, there were 11.1 million internet users and 99 percent internet penetration, alongside 11.3 million social media user identities, equivalent to 100 percent of the population. These figures underscore the strength of digital participation across the region, where real-time content and community-led experiences continue to create meaningful opportunities for creators and audiences alike.

“May Family Month has been a celebration of what makes Bigo Live truly special: the people, relationships, and shared ambitions that grow through livestreaming,” said Khaldoun Mahmoud, Government Relations Director, Middle East & North Africa, BIGO Technology. “In Bigo Live, creators are not building alone. They are supported by Families who cheer for them, challenge them, and help them reach new stages of growth. This year’s campaign reflected both legacy and renewal, honouring the Families who have helped shape our community while welcoming more creators to compete, connect, and represent their communities on a global stage.”

May Family Month 2026 unfolded across three competitive phases designed to mirror the
journey from close-knit community building to international recognition. From 13 to 14 May, Families first competed internally, strengthening teamwork and encouraging creators to complete daily tasks that contributed to overall Family points. From 15 to 16 May, the competition moved into regional battles, where top Families faced cross-country rivals and rallied their communities in real time. From 17 to 19 May, the strongest Families from each region advanced to the Global Finals, where they competed against leading Families from around the world for the global championship.

Throughout the campaign, creators completed daily missions to earn Family points, unlocked live PK battles, and engaged their audiences through interactive livestream moments. Viewers supported their favourite creators and Families with virtual gifts, helping transform everyday participation into collective progress on the leaderboard.

Following three competitive phases, Jaguars from the MENA region was crowned the May Family Month 2026 champion after achieving the highest cumulative points across the campaign, with Al Fazaa from the MENA region in second place, while Ho Gia VIP from Vietnam ranked third completing the top three.

The International Day of Families, observed annually on 15 May, highlights the importance of family connection and the forces shaping family life around the world. Bigo Live’s May Family Month built on this spirit by celebrating digital Families as communities of support, belonging, ho gia VIP and shared ambition, where creators and viewers grew together from local participation to the global stage.

Al Fazaa Family is one of Bigo Live’s established creator communities in the GCC, known for its strong sense of connection, teamwork, and mutual support. Founded around five years ago by Bo Sao’od alongside fellow creators and broadcasters, the Family has consistently ranked among the platform’s leading regional communities, including securing third place at last year’s Regional Family Gala.

Bo Sao’od, Leader and co-founder of Al Fazaa Family on Bigo Live, said: “One of the things I’m most proud of is that wherever there is competition or an event, the name of Al Fazaa is always present at the top. At the same time, we are still working toward growing even further and maintaining our position.”
