HE GCCSG Chairs the Internal Preparatory Meeting for the 166th Ministerial Council Session, with the Participation of Senior Officials from the General Secretariat
As part of the preparations for the 166th Ministerial Council session for Their Highnesses and Excellencies the Foreign Ministers of the GCC states, an internal preparatory meeting was held , Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at the General Secretariat. The meeting was chaired by His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), with the participation of senior officials from the General Secretariat.
During the meeting, all topics to be raised on the Ministerial meeting’s agenda were reviewed. These included matters related to the course of joint Gulf action, a number of files concerning regional and international issues, and a follow-up on the implementation progress of joint Gulf initiatives and projects aimed at achieving sustainable development, security, and stability for the GCC states and their peoples.
His Excellency the GCC Secretary General stated that the meeting is part of the General Secretariat’s commitment to ensuring readiness for ministerial meetings, unifying efforts, enhancing coordination among the General Secretariat’s various sectors, and reviewing the items on the meeting’s agenda.
Moreover, His Excellency praised the efforts of the General Secretariat’s staff in preparing for these meetings and the ongoing coordination with member states to ensure tangible results that support the Council’s mission and serve the common interests of its nations and peoples.
