HE GCCSG Discusses with UK Secretary of State for Business and Trade and President of the Board of Trade, and Minister of State for Trade Affairs at the Ministry of Business and Trade the Optimal Ways to Address All Outstanding Issues in FTA Negotiations
His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), met with both His Excellency Mr Peter Kyle, Secretary of State for Business and Trade and President of the Board of Trade, and His Excellency Mr Chris Bryant, Minister of State for Trade Affairs at the Ministry of Business and Trade in the United Kingdom, today, Monday, October 20, 2025, in the British capital, London.
During the meeting, they discussed the optimal ways to address all outstanding issues in the free trade agreement (FTA) negotiations between the two sides and reviewed the latest updates reached by the Gulf-British negotiating teams.
His Excellency the GCC Secretary General stressed the importance of intensifying joint efforts from both sides and working to align all viewpoints on all remaining matters in the negotiation process.
He indicated that the free trade agreement between the GCC and the United Kingdom will contribute significantly to enhancing trade and economic relations between the two sides and open new horizons for cooperation in various fields.
