HE the GCCSG Meets the Republic of Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister on the Sidelines of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly

His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), met with His Excellency Mr Bakhtiyor Saidov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Friday, September 26, 2025. The meeting took place on the sidelines of His Excellency Mr Albudaiwi’s participation in the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, United States of America.

During the meeting, the strategic relations between the GCC and Uzbekistan were reviewed, along with ways to develop and consolidate them to serve the desired objectives.

The two sides also expressed their anticipation for the upcoming summit between their Majesties and Highnesses, the leaders of the GCC countries and the leaders of Central Asia in the city of Samarkand next year. In addition, they followed up on the latest developments of the joint action plan between the GCC and Central Asian countries for the period (2023-2027).

The latest updates in the region were also discussed, and views were exchanged. Both sides stressed the necessity of ending the crisis in Gaza and stopping the serious Israeli aggressions and violations against the brotherly Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the rest of the Palestinian territories.
