HE GCCSGG Meets with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan
, Discusses Developments Related to the FTA Initialed on September 28, 2023

His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), met with His Excellency Mr Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, on Monday (September 22, 2025) on the sidelines of HE the Secretary General’s participation in the 80th session of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly in New York, United States.
At the beginning of the meeting, HE the Secretary General praised the level of bilateral relations between the two sides, indicating that these relations are witnessing development at all levels.
Several topics were discussed during the meeting, most notably a review of Gulf-Pakistani relations and ways to develop and strengthen them to serve common interests, in line with the Joint Action Plan 2022-2026.
They also discussed developments related to the Free Trade Agreement (FTA), which was initialed on September 28, 2023.
Moreover, views were exchanged on the latest developments and issues in the region, particularly the serious violations being perpetrated by the Israeli occupation forces against the Palestinian people in Gaza and the rest of the Palestinian territories, and their repercussions for security and stability in the Middle East.
