GCC Secretary General Stresses the Importance of Bolstering Relations between the Council and the UN Industrial Development Organisation to Serve Common Interests

His Excellency Mr. Jassem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) underscored the importance of bolstering relations between the Council and the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) in a way that serves common interests.

This came during His Excellency’s meeting with Dr. Gerd Müller, Director General of the UNIDO, today, Monday, May 22, 2023, in the Austrian capital, Vienna.

During the meeting, a joint declaration was signed between the GCC and the UNIDO with the objective to elevate cooperation between the two sides and exchange experiences.

Commenting on this, His Excellency the Secretary General stated that the GCC always seeks to strengthen its bonds with international and regional organisations, explaining that the signing of the joint declaration today with the Director General of the UNIDO comes to cement aspects of cooperation between the Council and the Organisation in line with the partnership among both parties which aims to mobilise knowledge, expertise, technologies, financial resources, and exchanging shared interests in promoting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
