HE the GCCSG: The Kingdom of Bahrain’s Hosting of the GCC Radio and Television Festival since 1994 to Celebrate and Honour Young Talents in the Field of Radio and Television, Confirms its Keenness to Support and Enhance the Creative GCC Media
His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), affirmed that the Kingdom of Bahrain’s hosting of the Gulf Radio and Television Festival since 1994, to celebrate and honour the young talents in the field of radio and television, confirms its keenness to support and enhance the creative GCC media.
This came during his Excellency’s participation in the 16th session of the GCC Radio and Television Festival, on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, in the Bahraini capital, Manama. Held under the gracious patronage of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, the event was organised by the Ministry of Information in the Kingdom of Bahrain in cooperation with the GCC Radio and Television Corporation. It featured a number of Ministers of Information in the Council’s countries and Arab countries, as well as elite specialists in the media field.
On this occasion, His Excellency the GCC Secretary General expressed his sincere gratitude and appreciation to the government and people of the Kingdom of Bahrain for organising the sixteenth session of the GCC Radio and Television Festival, wishing the festival’s organisers all success and achievement in its 16th edition in order to maintain the successes witnessed by the previous editions of this festival, and to continue the progress and development at the media, cultural and social levels.
He also praised the efforts made by the Radio and Television Corporation of the GCC countries in this festival, and its keenness to enhance cooperation and solidarity between the official and private television institutions in the member states, noting the leading position of the GCC media and the creative works it has produced throughout the years.
