HE the GCCSG Emphasises the Need for International Collaboration and Unity in Efforts to Halt the Ongoing Israeli Attacks Against the Gaza Strip During his Meeting with the EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs

His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Al Budaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), stressed the importance of international collaboration and unity in efforts to halt the continuous Israeli attacks against the Gaza Strip.
This came during his reception of Mr. Josep Borrell, High Representative of the European Union (EU) for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, yesterday, Sunday, January 7, 2024, at the headquarters of the General Secretariat in Riyadh.
His Excellency stated that the meeting discussed the latest developments and updates in both the regional and international arenas, notably the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip, and the ways to enhance international and regional efforts aimed at ending this crisis and putting an end to this humanitarian catastrophe.
He also mentioned that the meeting discussed aspects of the regional security dialogue for senior officials from the GCC countries and the EU, scheduled to take place on January 24, 2024, at the headquarters of the General Secretariat in Riyadh, and the importance of this dialogue in promoting regional peace and stability.
Moreover, His Excellency pointed out that the meeting also addressed ways to enhance cooperation between the GCC and the EU as well as develop it in various fields, emphasising the importance of collective action between the two sides in confronting current challenges.
