Masam Team “26” has cleared 13 schools in Al-Khawkhah and Hays of mines

As Houthi militias continue planting mines at schools to deprive children of their right to a safe access to their schools and to terrorize them, “Masam” project has succeeded in clearing 13 schools in Al-Khawkhah and Hays districts of Hodeidah Governorate.
Masam Team “26” announced that the cleared areas include 7 completely destroyed schools and 6 partially damaged schools due to the mines planted by Houthi militia, a matter which caused a complete paralysis in the regularity of the entire educational process. The mines affected 5,970 male and female students, as many schools stopped performing their work, in addition to the displacement of a large number of educational staff to other governorates. Add to all this, the sporadic injuries suffered by students and educators due to the tragic mine accidents.
The list of cleared schools, which were partially damaged, includes 5 schools in Hays district. They are: (Abdullah bin Al-Zubayr in the village of Mahal Al-Rabi’, with 400 students enrolled, Tariq bin Ziyad in the village of Hilla, with 450 students enrolled, Al-Nasr in the village of Beit Bish, with 400 students enrolled, Al-Farouq in the village of Al-Hasab, with 500 students enrolled, and Omar bin Al-Khattab in the village of Al-Maqani’, with 300 students enrolled), in addition to Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq School in the village of Al-Dahiya of Al-Khawkhah district, which has 400 students.
While the list of cleared schools, which were in a state of complete destruction, includes 4 schools in Hays District. They are: (Al-Nour in the village of Al-Ron, which has 300 students, Al-Kifah in the village of Al-Humaniya, which has 370 students, Al-Wa’i in the village of Rabat, which has 800 students, and Al-Qadisiyah in the village of Al-Uqda, in which 350 students are enrolled), in addition to 3 schools in Al- Khawkhah District: (Al-Sha’ab school in the village of Dar Al-Alam, with 600 students enrolled, Al-Salam school in the village of Bani Fartout, which has 300 students, and Othman bin Affan school in the village of Al-Qudaibah, enrolling 800 students).
Yemeni citizens thanked “Masam” project for its pioneering efforts as regards clearing Yemeni schools of indiscriminate mine invasions and restoring safety to the afflicted areas so that their children can resume their studies after the stumbling of the educational process due to the fear of parents, students and teachers.
