Soundstorm 2025 Opens with a Reimagined Festival Ground and a Powerhouse Lineup

MDLBEAST’s flagship festival Soundstorm has returned for its sixth edition, officially kicking off yesterday with a spectacular opening day. While the festival has already cemented its status as a global heavyweight in previous years, the newly redesigned festival ground proves that MDLBEAST continues to raise the bar. With some of the world’s biggest artists on site, crowds made it clear they were ready for a weekend charged with energy and unforgettable moments.
With thousands of visitors, over 80 artists, and an impressive 14 redesigned stages, Soundstorm 2025 is one of the most anticipated events of the year. The three-day celebration launched in true Soundstorm fashion, delivering the scale, atmosphere, and excitement the festival is known for.
The opening night set the tone immediately. Benson Boone, one of today’s most rapidly rising artists, and genre-blending superstar Post Malone lit up the Big Beast stage – joining a lineup that also features dance legends Swedish House Mafia. Big Beast returned as the main stage with a brand-new design, bigger and better than ever. Elsewhere on the grounds, Don Diablo, DJ Snake and Calvin Harris inaugurated one of the brand-new stages, turning the Tunnel Stage into a full-blown spectacle from the very first beat.
This year, the festival ground underwent its most ambitious transformation yet, reshaped into what feels like an entire city where fans can navigate seamlessly toward the genres that match their mood. The Tunnel Stage anchors a newly created dance and techno district in the West, supported by the Port, Plexi, Silk, Log, and Greenhouse stages. One standout moment came on the Log Stage, where Francis Mercier performed wearing the Soundstorm x Inter Milan jersey – a collaboration he fronts, blending football and music in a way that connects Milan and Riyadh through shared energy, creativity, and cultural exchange.
Big Beast continues to dominate the East, now joined by the adjacent 6AG Stage, dedicated to regional and local talent and giving Saudi and Middle Eastern artists a powerful platform at the heart of the Storm – including Dhom Altlasy, Ayed, and Ibrahim Alsultan. To the North, guests enjoyed live music, R&B, and hip-hop on stages like the Park Stage, which on the first day featured performances from Lil Yachty, Tyla, and Kaytranada. Meanwhile, the South offered slower, ambient, and more atmospheric sounds. At the center of it all lies Downtown – the Eye of the Storm, a vibrant hub designed for gathering, exploring, and taking in everything Soundstorm has to offer.
With such a strong opening, MDLBEAST has unmistakably set the tone for a record-breaking weekend. Friday night promises another wave of major performances, including headline sets from Anyma, Pitbull, and a highly anticipated DJ Snake b2b Metro Boomin showcase. Soundstorm 2025 has only just begun – and the storm is set to intensify.
