HE GCCSG Meets with the UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process on the Sidelines of the 80th Session of the UN General Assembly

His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), met with His Excellency Dr Ramiz Alakbarov, the United Nations (UN) Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, on Tuesday, September 23, 2025.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of His Excellency Mr Albudaiwi’s participation in the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, USA.

During the meeting, several topics of common interest were discussed. Chief among them were the cooperation between the GCC and relief organisations, a review of the latest challenges facing relief operations, as well as mechanisms to address them by enhancing international cooperation. They also exchanged views on proposals for integrating aid with investment through development projects.
