HE GCCSG: The Arabian Gulf University is a Beacon and an Important Resource in the Field of Joint Gulf Higher Education, Representing a Pioneering Model of Academic and Scientific Integration among the GCC Countries

Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain, His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), participated in the graduation ceremony of students from the College of Medicine and Health Sciences and the College of Education, Administrative and Technical Sciences for the academic year 2024-2025, held on Sunday (June 29, 2025), at the Exhibition World Bahrain in the Bahraini capital, Manama.
On this occasion, HE the Secretary General stated that since its establishment, the Arabian Gulf University has been a beacon and an important tributary in the field of joint Gulf higher education, as it represents a pioneering model for academic and scientific integration among the GCC states.
His Excellency emphasised that the leaders of the GCC states have placed the importance of higher education at the forefront of development priorities and have directed its support and development according to the latest international educational standards, which has had the greatest impact on achieving the milestones and successes we witness today in this field.
His Excellency also expressed his deep appreciation to the Kingdom of Bahrain for hosting the university, appreciating the generous patronage and support it receives from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, which has contributed to achieving the goals of establishing the Arabian Gulf University.
HE the Secretary General also praised the great efforts made by the university’s administration and its affiliates in developing educational and research programmes that keep pace with the aspirations of the GCC countries and are consistent with their development visions.
He emphasised the GCC’s support for its blessed journey, based on the belief in its vital role in achieving sustainable development and raising the level of education and training in the GCC region. His Excellency also wished the graduates success in their professional lives, noting that their graduation today is not only the end of an academic journey, but rather the beginning of a bright journey in serving their countries and an effective tool in raising the status of the GCC countries regionally and internationally in the fields of healthcare, scientific research, and medical innovation.
He added: “At the GCC countries, we look at young Gulf talent with pride and appreciation, and we believe in their pivotal role in continuing the path of construction and prosperity, and raising the flag of our countries in academic and professional forums, as they are the true pillar and wealth of the GCC states.”
