Arab Golf Federation Concludes Inaugural ‘Elite Sports Scholarship Program’ Camp in Riyadh

The Arab Golf Federation (AGF) has successfully concluded the Elite Sports Scholarship Program Camp, a four-day event held at Riyadh Golf Club with the participation of 16 promising male and female golfers from across the Arab world.
The camp marks the first phase of the AGF Elite Sports Scholarship Program, one of the Federation’s most prominent initiatives focused on developing the next generation of Arab golf champions. Targeting players under the age of 18, the program is designed to identify emerging talent and provide them with a fully integrated development pathway, preparing a new generation of Arab golf champions by 2035.
Organised in collaboration with IMG Academy, a global leader in elite sports training, the camp featured a comprehensive schedule of technical, physical, and mental assessments. Participants took part in high-performance testing at dedicated stations equipped with advanced technologies such as TrackMan, alongside practical training both indoors and on the course to evaluate their overall skill level.
To simulate official tournament conditions and assess players’ performance under pressure, two competitive rounds of an 18-hole championship were held at Riyadh Golf Club. During the final days of the camp, winners were crowned and candidates selected to receive full scholarships starting in August 2025. The scholarships will include professional golf coaching, academic support, and specialized services in physical fitness, mental conditioning, and advanced sports analysis.
On the sidelines of the camp, Kevin Craggs, Executive Director at IMG Academy, delivered a session titled “Mastering the Margin: Coaching for Clarity and Competitive Edge.” The talk—attended by players’ families and coaches—highlighted the importance of cultivating an environment that supports holistic player development. Key themes included mental

resilience, conscious leadership, and understanding the mindset of the next generation of athletes.
The Elite Sports Scholarship Program is a cornerstone of the Arab Golf Federation’s long-term vision to build a robust, sustainable golf ecosystem across the region. By investing in talent discovery and elite training, the Federation aims to lay the foundation for future Arab professionals to thrive on the global stage. The successful conclusion of the first edition reinforces AGF’s commitment to empowering Arab youth and strengthening the sport’s presence and popularity in the region.
The week also marked a significant moment for Arab golf beyond Riyadh, as more than 35 Arab players competed simultaneously in the Asian Development Tour (ADT) tournament in Morocco, part of the AGF’s broader pathways program. Together, these initiatives lay the groundwork for a connected journey from early talent discovery to global competition.
