Furthermore, 97% of travellers said it was important for them to maximise their break this summer. With 62% intending to experience more destinations and activities.
As the summer season approaches, Skyscanner highlights family-friendly destinations that everyone can enjoy.
Those looking for a new European destination may consider Georgia. Quickly becoming a popular destination, the country in the Caucasus region has a number of top family-friendly attractions that both kids and adults can enjoy. Visitor attractions include the National Museum of Georgia along with the outdoor Mtatsminda Park, home to a variety of rides, games and entertainment including the Ferris wheel. The country also boasts several family-friendly beach resorts.
Meanwhile, adults and children will not be short of options for entertainment and activities in Armenia. Whether it’s visiting Lake Sevan, one of the highest mountain lakes in the world, jet-skiing, sailing, or taking on the swinging bridge of Khndzoresk, families will have plenty of fun during their stay.
Away from Europe, Egypt is popular among families, with Saudi residency holders able to apply for a visa on arrival. The pyramids of Giza are awe-aspiring for all ages while Sharm El Sheikh boasts family-friendly beaches with shallow waters, snorkelling, dolphin watching and water parks.
Ayoub El Mamoun, Travel Expert at Skyscanner, said: “With the summer holidays coinciding with the traditional end-of-school academic years, parents are looking to make the most of the long summer in new environments. Rather than returning to familiar destinations, many now prefer lesser-known destinations that not only offer value for money but also unique and enjoyable experiences, benefitting both adults and children while exploring new cultures and settings.”
